This will be your first chance to catch sight of some of the big five and you can watch herds of buffalo gather for a cooling drink at the edge of the lake. You can also see pink flamingos pushing their long bills into the soft sands searching for breakfast and hippos sinking into the water to escape the climbing sun. As you careen down into the national park in the basin of the crater you have the chance to see lion cubs rolling in the swaying grasses, elephants walking through the plains with their calves, giraffes tearing the leaves from the trees and bright plumed birds calling and taking flight. As the evening sun dwindles you can enjoy watching the stars come out from your accommodation at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or the Ngorongoro Farmhouse.

Cathedrals and mosques stand side by side adorned in heavenly riches, ornate décor and carved doors. Lose yourself in the endless alleyways, immerse your senses at the local market and taste numerous delights from every corner of the globe. You can also admire the decadence of the Palace Museum, the House of Wonders and the Arab Fort.
Yet the adventure doesn’t stop there, next you will be taken to one of the most famed places in Zanzibar – the Spice Plantations.
